Growing up on Yancy Street, Ben Grimm idolized his older brother Dan. Courageous, quick witted, and handy in a fight, Dan was the kind of man that would steal to provide for his family which he did as the leader of the Yancy Street Gang, who Ben hoped to succeed in the position one day. But unfortunately, Dan's tenure as leader was cut short when he died to save Ben's life in a rumble with a rival gang. Ben stayed by his brother's side until his last moments, before the two ended up forever separated by the mortal coil and social services. Next week, Ben was moved uptown to live with his Aunt Petunia and Uncle Jake.
