Jean Lafitte, notorious privateer of the 1800s, works in Hollywood under the name John Shipman. He's also gone by a few other names since becoming a vampire. His sire was Marcus Lancaster, who was also a privateer in that era. Jean joins up with Marcus on the way to San Antonio to pick up Jesse, Lilly, and Izzy. He tries to be a steading influence on his sire, but friendship only goes so far when the person you're friends with forgets that friendship.
