Real is the reincarnated clone of Monad, who wishes to seek out and reunite with Ergo Proxy. It is safe to speculate that both Re-l Mayer and Real are both clones of Monad since both of them resembles each other and have some things in common. She was created by Daedalus Yumeno, who had a crush on Re-l, but Daedalus feels rejected because Re-l is obsessed with Vincent Law, so he created Real from Monad. Deadalus claims that Real is the "real thing" unlike the treacherous Re-L.
