Eragon, a young farmer, has his life turned upside down when a dragon egg magically appears in front of him during a hunt. Once it hatches, it grows up quickly and its presence starts to arouse suspicion, so fleeing his home, Eragon and his dragon Saphira make their way into the big wide world with Brom, an old man from his village. But danger follows them everywhere they go, and soon, Eragon is tangled up in a mess from the ancient Dragon Rider times, and only time will tell if he and Saphira are up to the challenge of defeating the evil king, Galbatorix!
