James's idea of a perfect dad is to have adventures with him and fight bad guys with his Red Ryder Carbine action 200-shot range model air rifle. In the end after Nancy and Edward adopt both Molly and James, James is amazed in his animated form and Edward is curious about James's red ryder so James teaches him how to use it carefully and then they play baseball in Andalasia.
