After escaping from the circus, the musicians wander the streets of Chicago trying to find help. They are discovered by the owner of a musical theater- Lee Johnson. The musicians are initially distrustful of him, but eventually agree to join his theater. Thanks to him, they become successful and get a chance for a better life.
