In the near-distant future, the Union Aerospace Corporation or the 'U.A.C.' sets up a station on Mars to experiment with portal technology, during which a portal to the gateways of Hell and disaster strikes, unleashing hordes of demons that possess all the scientists working at the facility. After a radio signal is sent to the main 'U.A.C.' station on Earth, a squad of U.S. Marines are sent to occupy the base, including one silent Marine (Thomas Jane) who is sent there as a punishment for assaulting a superior officer after he ordered him to open fire on civilians that got caught in the crossfire. The Marines that enter the facility aside from the "Silent Marine" are picked off and killed one by one. Armed only with his service pistol, the lone Marine enters the facility to seek revenge.
