As Dante defeated Gilver and fatally wounding him, it is then that the bandages covering his face fall off, revealing to Dante that his opponent shared the same face as his own twin, Vergil. [NOTE: this is not actually Vergil, but a clone. Canonically, Dante reunites with Vergil again for the first time in the DMC3 manga]
