The Dante and Vergil Saga
The lore of Devil May Cry begins with Sparda, a powerful demon who rebelled against the demon world thousands of years ago. He sealed away the Demon Emperor, Mundus, and other evil forces to protect the human world. Sparda later lived among humans and fathered twin sons: Dante and Vergil, both of whom inherit his demonic power.
