Elijah Lamb is a 17-year-old runaway with an unshakable feeling that he is not human. His mind is plagued with whispers, his dreams invaded by visions of an ancient slaughterhouse where something divine—or monstrous—is being prepared. After a near-fatal accident leaves him wandering the countryside, Elijah is taken in by Mother Kessler, a kind yet eerie woman who shelters lost souls. But her home—an old, decaying inn—holds secrets beyond comprehension. Every night, strange noises echo from the basement. Every morning, one of the house’s inhabitants is missing. Elijah soon meets The Butcher, a silent woman who operates the town’s meat shop. She takes an unsettling interest in him, claiming he was "marked before birth" and that the town has been waiting for his return. As Elijah begins to unravel the town’s horrific past, he discovers that he may not be the hunted—he may be the sacrificial offering. A gothic fairy tale drenched in nightmarish surrealism. Think The Witch meets The Neon Demon, with hints of Rosemary’s Baby. Dreamlike cinematography with stark lighting, evoking 1970s Giallo films.
