Dorian's Mask form in the movie is considered the closest thing to have a faithfully-adapted titular character from the original comics. Coincidentally, Dorian Tyrell shares many similarities between comic Stanley: 1.) Both have the same hair style and color; 2.) Both are abused by people who view themselves above them; 3.) Both are neglectful and verbally abusive to their girlfriends (Kathy and Tina); 4.) Both are bent on revenge against others over the smallest offense and often fantasize about it; 5.) Both become more unstable after donning the Mask; 5.) Both kill their main tormentors; 6.) Both run afoul of the police; 7.) Both their ex-girlfriends manage to get the mask away from them which results in their deaths (one wears it herself to kill him with while the other gets it to her true lover to vanquish him with).
