The Atomic Ant Ray Palmer's tech was stolen by Ricki DeMara, an industrial snitch and burglar. Ricki was exposed to cosmic energy when she was carrying Palmer's bug communication helmet. Ricki transformed into the evil Yellow Bee after gaining incredible powers. She realized the mistake of her ways, though, and chose to use her abilities to aid others rather than steal from them after being stopped by the Atomic Ant himself. Later, she would join the Freedom Defenders.
