The DNA samples of scientist Dr. Curt Connors were taken as part of Project Cadmus, but an unidentified criminal took them and combined them with the DNA of several reptiles to produce the ferocious King Lizard, a cross between The Lizard and King Shark. He was confined in Cadmus' prison cells after being captured by Spider-Boy until a fight between Spider-Boy and Bizarnage destroyed the power array to his cell. During his escape, King Lizard destroyed the power core, which resulted in the suspension of an American Girl clone.
