After being exposed to burning alien radiation, she underwent a transformation that granted her superpowers and enormous, avian-like wings that sprouted from her back. Carrie desired to serve as Firewing, a merger of Firebird and Redwing, to protect the helpless since she believed her abilities were a gift from the Native American gods.
