Old Logan Wayne set out to find Warren and Sarah McGinnis so that a Dark Claw would always exist. In order to make their unborn child a twin of himself, he gave them DNA-infused serums.They did have a daughter as a result of the serum's Y genetic damage, but Dark Claw gave up on having her succeed him because she lacked any powers. The Hyenaz killed Laura's father, and Laura used her manifested powers to track them down. When Laura eventually came upon the Barrow and turned on the sensors, they recognized her as Dark Claw. By undergoing the same adamantium treatment Dark Claw had and wearing improved Dark Claw-inspired gear, Laura became Dark Claw Beyond, a fusion of X23 and Batman Beyond.
