Alternate Casting
"Cold Mountain" tells the story of W.P. Inman, a Confederate soldier wounded during the American Civil War, who deserts to return to his love, Ada Monroe, in Cold Mountain, North Carolina. The novel alternates between Inman's perilous journey home and Ada's struggle to maintain their farm with the help of a drifter named Ruby. Their stories intertwine as they both face the challenges and hardships of war and its aftermath.
