Code Geass follows exiled prince Lelouch vi Britannia, who gains the power of Geass (mind control) from the immortal C.C. and becomes the masked revolutionary Zero, leading Japan (Area 11) in a rebellion against the oppressive Holy Britannian Empire to create a peaceful world for his sister Nunnally, while clashing with his childhood friend Suzaku, who pilots Britannia's advanced Knightmare Frame. The plot involves intricate chess-like strategies, political intrigue, giant robot battles, and Lelouch's morally ambiguous quest to achieve his goals through conquest and manipulation, culminating in his "Zero Requiem" plan to unite the world under his tyrannical rule to end hatred.
