The action takes place a dozen years after the events of The Witcher:The Dead Army. Ciri and Galahad have come to live together in the farthest corner of the country in a small forest and had a child they named Osian. Ciri, however, still cannot come to terms with the loss of Geralt and Yennefer, who often dreams about her. One night when she wakes up from a nightmare she goes to look for Osian, who is not there. It turns out that he was kidnapped by a powerful Bruxa Zorine, as the child has a powerful force that neither Ciri nor Galahad knew about. The pair, along with a vampire girl named Lereen, set out to rescue the boy. Along the way they meet the sorceress Nimue who gives Ciri a powerful sword to defeat Bruxa.
