In 1993, the man named Jean-Claude Baker who wrote the book with Chris Chase, as they made the story of his foster mother, Josephine Baker. The story begins in June 3, 1906 for the adopted parents in St. Louis, Missouri to her funeral in Monaco Cemetery in the spring of 1975.
