Selina was originally Bruce Wayne's assistant, to try and steal secrets from him. Then for a short while, they became something more. However, Selina got scared and ran away from that life. Intending to make amends with him, she finds out that he's dead, sacrificing himself to save the universe as his alter ego, Batman. Now, Selina is at a crossroads and unsure of herself. She realizes she must venture into her past to try and find a new future.
