When Eggman broke the planet apart to release Dark Gaia and sent Sonic the Werehog down to the Earth, Sonic meets a small creature that did not know who he was. He was nicknamed "Chip" because of his love for a Chocolate Chip Sundae Supreme ice cream cone at Apotos. Chip traveled with Sonic all around the globe to put it back together. Unbeknownst to either of them, Chip is actually the Light Gaia that was meant to stop Dark Gaia. Chip himself is silly and gluttonous, but still means well.
