He is a lawyer and tries to give his daughter the possibility to go to the Prom after her Prom ticket was refused. Mr. Morton, however, refused and showed him evidence, which showed his actions regarding her were justified and putting this to court would only worsen things even more. He initially intended to sue the school anyway, but it is implied that other officials told him that the school really could counter-sue him for his daughter's actions. He had no choice, but to relent.
