In Roman-occupied Byblos during the latter half of the 3rd century, Leo is a young man whose father is the city's governor and whose mother is high priestess in the temple of Venus. Kyra is a young street thief whose parent abandoned her as a toddler, and is forced to survive on her wits. When the two meet, they fall in love, set to the songs of George Michael.
