A prequel to Brooklyn Nine-Nine following witty but dedicated hotshot detective Adrian Pimento as he is recruited in 2004 for an undercover investigation into mob boss Jimmy "The Butcher" Figgis, a high-risk assignment that will last 12 years and gradually take its toll on Pimento's sanity.
