Blade

On the longest night of the year, Blade tracks a surge of ancient supernatural energy to an apartment complex, only to find himself trapped inside as hordes of vampires lay siege to the building. Leading them is Varda, an ancient and regal vampire lord who claims to be the first of his kind. As Blade fights floor by floor to protect the terrified tenants, he uncovers a darker truth with the help of Teenage resident Jericho Drum, who practices the occult: the attack is not a feeding frenzy, but the final stage of a ritual. A hidden cult within the building has magically impregnated a woman Blade has grown close to, intending for her to give birth to Lilith—the primordial Mother of Demons—so Varda can claim her power. As the night descends into claustrophobic carnage, Blade faces an impossible choice. If Lilith is born and bound to Varda, vampires will rise beyond the limits of the sun and humanity will fall. But stopping the ritual may require killing an innocent mother and her unborn child. In a brutal dawn confrontation, Blade and Drum disrupt the summoning and drag Varda into the rising sunlight. The building survives, but the ancient forces behind the ritual remain, waiting for another chance to be born.
