In the depths of the Scarlet Wastes, Agatha Harkness performs a forbidden rite, unlocking a rift into the Nether Realm of the mind. Her goal: free Nightmare, the Lord of Terror. Together, they seek Mephisto, to deliver a prophecy that could upend reality. But their path is hunted. In a brutal, reality-warping clash, Nightmare turns the tide—trapping Blackheart in the Nether Realm, sacrificing his own freedom to stay behind and ensure the gate closes. Agatha reaches Mephisto alone. She delivers her warning: the Darkhold speaks of a coming child, conceived by Wanda Maximoff. This child is destiny incarnate—a being fated to destroy Mephisto. If the conception isn’t stopped, not even Hell’s ruler can defy fate. Mephisto listens… and for the first time in eons, fear touches his flame-wreathed face.
