Kate is Gotham's First Vigilante
After the deaths of her mother and twin sister, and her father's decent into alcoholism, Kate Kane is adopted by her Aunt Martha and Uncle Thomas Wayne and becomes Kathryn 'Kate' Wayne, and later gets a little brother in the form of Bruce. While abroad, Kate gets word that her parents have been murdered and Bruce saw it happen in front of him. She immediately returns to Gotham to care for her brother and find those responsible for her parents' deaths.
