The daughter of Alphonso Giovanni, the original Legionary, Pippi loved her father very much, helping him in her own ways in his work. When he was bought off by Rome's criminals, she worried about him, but began training herself just in case. When Alphonso had been killed by the Black Glove, Pippi knew the legacy of the Legionary needed to live on, so she adopted the mantle, soon becoming part of Batman Incorporated to honor her father's legacy.
