Across light years of known space called the Inner Sphere, humanity unites under the banner of the Star League by their conquest of the stars. That conquest is fueled by a great new weapon: The BattleMech, a metal titan standing between 20-30ft tall and bristling with enough firepower to level a city block. For 300 years, the Cameron Family sat at the head of the Star League as they led humanity into a cultural and technological golden age. Five Great Houses stand as member states alongside the Star League. It is 2870 and the cracks are beginning to show.
