Once known as the Batman, Bruce lost his daughter, but also his company after a fatal heart attack & forcing to pick up a gun. This trauma terrified him as his severed ties with comrades and loved ones after hanging up the cowl, becoming a recluse. Batman never saw the light of day again, until the arrival of Terry changed all of that. Despite his defiance, Terry proved that Gotham needed a hero again and proved the right example than Bruce did and knowing that he's not alone. Bruce offers him to be Terry's teacher & mentor as they end Derek Powers and all crimes of Gotham.
