This animated movie disregards everything except the original. After Daniel won the 1984 tournament Kreese was enraged and attack Johnny and having Mr Miyagi to save Johnny just like in the movie. This takes place a month after Daniel won, he was training with Mr Miyagi but when Mike Barnes shows up Daniel fights Barnes without knowing how strong he is and ends up loosing, Mr Miyagi sends Daniel to Okinawa to train with Mr Miyagi’s friends and his student Chozen, meanwhile back in America Johnny shows up asking Mr Miyagi to teach him and his friends better karate then the Cobra Kai karate and shut down Kreese’s Cobra Kai.
