This true story follows Ukrainian revolutionary, Nestor Makhno, as he tries to build a free society during the Russian Revolution. Makhno was born a peasant living in Ukraine under the Russian empire. when he was a teenager he was put in jail for joining a revolutionary group, but he is saved from jail when the government is overthrown. He tries to create a free society and escape the tyranly of multiple factions, including the newly forming Soviet Union. Makhno's life is filled with tragedy and perseverance, all leading up to a betrayal that would cost him everything.read more
