Black is the noble ex-soldier who is on the ship as a figure of security, but also the operator of the shields and weapons. He’s a strong and big man, but has such a kind and genuine heart. He is the oldest crewmate, and is seen as the wisest amongst the others. He acts as sort of father figure to all other crewmates, including Orange, who despite being older than her, he assumes a role she can look up to. However, he tries defending Green when they others try to eject him – he doesn’t believe killing is right, even as a sanction for murder. The others go against him still, and Black gets sucked out trying to save Green. They fail to save him and this forces them to reconsider their options.
