Film adaptation of the novel "Alvina" by Adolfo Sabalza
Because of her unique physical condition, a young woman from Tala (Jalisco) has been the object of mockery, humiliation and rejection all her life; however, a childish belief makes her think that when she finds true love her body will acquire what many have insisted on telling her is a normal appearance. Since she was little, only her brother Agustín and her parents have been with her, being her confidants and protectors, but that changes one hot day in May, when a peculiar visitor appears at the door of her house asking for asylum and instantly capturing her heart. The struggle to be loved by him and to achieve her longed-for metamorphosis will unleash a series of misadventures that include the arrival of a sensual prostitute, the mystery of an unpaid debt and the uncontrollable waste of the basest instincts in a humble town in the interior of Mexico.
