Officer Alan Franklin was an exemplary and honest rookie police officer who helped people and had a great sense of justice, however one day he discovered that his friend Tommy Reed had gotten into something he shouldn't have and he went to rescue him, however the man was taken hostage and was used as a test subject by Dr. Heller to test a new camouflage method on soldiers, with side effects leaving Alan without a visible face and with a rare ability to camouflage himself, however he escapes from his kidnappers, losing his memory in the process and being found by Detective Peterson.
