Synopsis

Food critic Dorothy Daniels loves what she does. Discerning, meticulous, and very, very smart, Dorothy’s clear mastery of the culinary arts make it likely that she could, on any given night, whip up a more inspired dish than any one of the chefs she writes about. Dorothy loves sex as much as she loves food, and while she has struggled to find a long-term partner that can keep up with her, she makes the best of her single life, frequently traveling from Manhattan to Italy for a taste of both. Description of Giovanni:

Giovanni is the first lover Dorothy killed. She hit him with her car in a fit of rage, then removed his liver in the moment and went and cooked it. Described to be a very, very skinny Italian man. "He could've doubled for ghandi, had Gandhi looked stereotypically Italian. His legs were thin, his arms were thin, his chest was thin, his knees were as knobby as a whippet's. My thighs nearly matched the circumference of Giovanni's waist. His wrists bobbled with bones like small bags of marbles. He had fantastic hair, though, rich and lustrous, and long. The hair on his chest grew in these pin-straight follicles, approaching two knuckles in length.".
