Barry sees a yellow speedster kill his mother and his father is blamed foe the murder and sentenced to jail. Barry devotes his life to becoming a forensic detective to prove his father's innocense. Barry is struck by lightning becoming a speedster himself.
When the yellow speedster retuens to the city Team 7 arrive to investigate the rise of metahuman activity in the Central city.
