Private Message Inbox Cleared Out?

Alright, something's weird here. Went to check my PMs on a whim and noticed that all of my PM conversations with no new messages prior to this year were completely cleared out, but I know for a fact that wasn't the case earlier, as it was completely full this morning and I didn't delete anything or block anyone (and checking my blocklist confirmed the latter.) Has anyone else had this issue?

Slight update: PM'd someone and found that the old messages came back, so it seems like they're hiding old pms now unless you message the person again. I don't know why that's the case.

Update number two: had a PM conversation from no more than... Two or three months ago, I believe? suddenly get deleted. Again, did not block the person or delete it myself. Still no response on why my PMs are suddenly missing.

Update three: My missing PM from this year returned, but all of the ones prior to this year are still missing.

Darn! I'm dealing with this issue as well

Good to know I'm not the only one. PMs are still missing by the way, and I tried messaging them about them using their contact form but got radio silence. Seems lately the only way to get a response is praying that a staff member comes on here and notices the forums or badgering them nonstop on Twitter...

Update: Still no word from staff on this, and my private messages keep disappearing with no good or apparent reason.

Alright, update. I messaged Robby White about this and here's what he had to say about the missing PMs problem:

"We have been doing a lot of work to get the site stable so we can continue to grow and add all the new features we are wanting to build out. Right now we have had ads off so there is zero revenue coming in, but these are things we needed to do in order to have the best site possible. There were over 10 million messages in the database and causing some of our issues with the site stability. When we build out v.2.0 there will be a new messaging system we go with that will allow us to scale as we continue to grow."

And, with regards to if old messages will be preserved with the new system:

"It will moving forward as it will be built in a new framework and database."

From the sound of it, it seems like PMs are just temporarily hidden to help with site stability while they rework the system.
