Andy Serkis To Direct Venom 2

Andy Serkis To Direct Venom 2

Gollum takes charge of Venom and Carnage

What is symbiote, precious?

Andy Serkis, the master of motion capture performance, is taking his budding directing career to the comic realm. Serkis announced on his Instagram the he accepted the job to direct Venom 2, the sequel to 2018's Venom that made over $800 million worldwide.

“It’s actually happening. I can feel it, the Symbiote has found a host in me, and I’m ready for the ride...Can’t wait! Are you ready @tomhardy?”

Venom's post-credit scene introduced us to Woody Harrelson's Cletus Kasaday, who becomes Carnage in the comics. Carnage could be the perfect catalyst to team-up Tom Hardy's Venom and Tom Holland's Spider-Man in a movie, which Sony has made known they want.

Spider-Man: Far from Home recently crossed $1 billion and with Venom making $800 million for Sony, it is safe to say the Spider-Man brand has never been stronger in thearers. Venom 2 does not currently have a release date, but Sony has an open date for October 2, 2020 labeled "untitled Spider-Man movie". If that 2+2 doesn't equal 4, I don't know what does.
