After years of quiet observation on Earth, Optimus Prime and his friends Ironhide, Ratchet, Bumblebee and Jazz attempt to integrate more openly with humanity, with the help of their new friend Spike Witwicky, hoping to prove their peaceful intentions. Their efforts are complicated by the resurgence of Megatron and the Decepticons, who are not only power-hungry but discovered their hiding place in Earth and are also experimenting with a dangerous new form of energon, pushing them to terrifying new extremes.
