After the events with the Star Sapphires, Knuckles went back to Angel Island where he was visited by an unexpected surprise: another echidna named Julie-Su! She came from the Lost Tribe of Echidnas in the hidden caves of Chaos, a refuge for Echidnas. But Julie-Su needs Knuckles' help because a powerful enemy was attacking them and has sworn its life to wipe out the Echidnas! Knuckles believed his entire life that he was the last of his kind, but now he gets the chance to save them all! Aside from the attacks Enerjak gives to the Chaos Caves, inside those caves is a thriving civilization with holes in the cave ceiling for atmosphere, and lots of Echidnas young an dold. living in a fruitful village peacefully. But when Julie-Su was giving the team the tour, Rob was amazed by the village when he bumped into Mari-An. At that moment, their eyes locked. She thought of him as the most handsome person she ever saw. And as she and Rob's bond grows, Mari-An loves his heart's intent over his looks, for she admires a selfless and kind person like Rob.
