Synopsis

The Lumen has awakened—but the world is unraveling. In the wake of Elen’s emergence as the Last Lumen, the fractured Dawnborn Alliance rallies behind her and Prince Corwin, pushing back against King Malric’s dominion. But victory comes at a terrible cost: the ancient Veil, the barrier between the mortal realm and the Shroud Beyond the Stars, begins to crack. As shadows deepen, Elen sets out on a harrowing pilgrimage across lost kingdoms and shattered sanctuaries to seek the Vault of Threads, an ancient temple said to hold the memory of the Lumen itself. With her travels haunted by visions, she begins to question whether she truly holds the light—or is merely its vessel. Meanwhile, Corwin Vaeloran grapples with betrayal within his ranks as the Alliance begins to splinter, and whispers of a corrupted relic known as the Hollow Star begin to circulate. And in the depths of the Shroud, the mad seer Cervan stirs, dreaming of a world unmade. The web of fate begins to fray. The Web-Twins spiral toward madness. The Black Flame Court unleashes their deadliest champions. And the ancient High Veilwarden, long hidden in the tide-carved temple of myths, prepares for one final revelation. To save the world, Elen must pass through the Veil—and face herself in the dark beyond.
