The Allies became the victors of World War II, and so technology and industry was advancing at an alarming rate, and the monarchies of old were being questioned in favor of more committee or totalitarian governments. It was a New Age. And, with this new age, comes these beings with power beyond belief. Gods and Monsters, people who reach for the stars for better or worse. It's a new age for humanity.
