Peyton Reed’s Fantastic Four (2004)

Peyton Reed's unmade "60s" Pitch

Set in the 60s, the Fantastic Four are seen as heroic celebrities in New York City. We're shown through flashback that the four and Latveria's physicist, Victor Von Doom, travel to space to harness a cosmic ray called "Particle Wave" which would replace Fossil nuclear and solar fueled energies. Reed and Victor fight over the close exposure to the rays until Victor is thrown into an escape pod while they're all exposed by the Particle Wave before landing back on Earth. Victor goes to the public to accuse Reed that he exposed the team with the radiation where Sue, Johnny and Ben stick up for Reed and soon have to overcome their differences to stop Victor. The climax is set in the streets of NYC where Victor is defeated and killed.
