Charlie (Kit Harington) is the bitter head of the failing chocolate factory that closed after falling into debt, Veruca (Natalie Dormer) is dealing with her father's estate and a tedious divorce, Augustus died due to being overweight, Mike (Sebastian Stan) is a felon with a dark past involving gun violence, and Violet (Kirsten Dunst) is a has-been Olympic champion who was addicted to heroin. All of them meet again after 30 years when the ghost of the mentally deranged Willy Wonka threatens to kill them all.
