Description of Bard (King Archibald's best and most trusted knight):
A young, handsome knight who falls in love with Beatriz while the King is away. When his affair with Beatriz is discovered, King Archibald initially wants to kill him, but after pleading with his wife not to, he decides to sentence him to 40 lashes and a very long stay in the dungeon. When Beatriz frees him and escapes with him, they are captured by the king's other knights and brought to the castle. There the king challenges him to a duel to the death.
