Synopsis

Harrowing tensions explode in a series of events that could happen anywhere, to anyone, just as they do to John Moore—whose days of freedom run out, who is stripped of his possessions, his courage, and his hopes, one by one, by the ominous presence of an insidious stranger impossible to resist.

Description of Jerry Cogswell:

The oldest son of Mickey and Agnes, who gets coerced into becoming a ‘junior officer’ for Perly - in reality, a sort of child soldier. He carries a loaded shotgun around and enforces rules on children and adults alike. He seems to enjoy the sense of power he gets out of this, as a once-bullied child. But when Perly turns on his family, he is again reduced to a small and terrified child. Aged 12 or 13.
