Magic has been forbidden in Kovalon for generations, but now that she can wield magic herself, she starts to question the rules she’s followed all her life. She then sets off to find her old friend, Kaori, who ran away months before, leaving nothing but a note telling her to go get tea at a shop on the outskirts of the kingdom.
