Charles Xavier's telepathic mutant powers developed before he reached his teens and lived with his step-brother Cain Marko. During his adulthood, he met Moira Kinross and Erik Lehnsherr, the latter who was a mutant and became his best friend. However, they found themselves at odds when Erik wanted war between mutants and humans and Charles wanted peace between the two races. Xavier eventually founded a team of mutants called the X-Men.
