Synopsis

13 year old Lauren Keaton and her dog Riff Raff have spent every Summer in Rhye Beach with her Dad, Charlie, ever since her parents’ divorce. Her Dad owns an ice cream parlour on the seafront, which is very popular with tourists and the local kids. Lauren gets into shenanigans with her friends Dylan and Steffi, and has a rivalry with Marissa Bingham, whose wealthy father owns the swankiest hotel in town.

Stephanie ‘’Steffi’’ Parker is the tomboyish and eccentric best friend of Lauren. She does not have any friends at school (until Dylan comes along) because the other kids think her weird, so the long stretches of time when Lauren is back at her mom’s are very lonely for her.
